Yellow and white seem to be the colors of early Spring. Forsythia are really neat shrubs. Literally, I cut off a branch and stuck it in the ground, last Fall. I have a flowering twig there now! It may take a few years- I have time- it will be a huge bush and full of color this time of year...
I've been doing research on this piece of land, spurred on by the Daffodils that come up in the pasture, by an old well. Shackelfords were here in the late 1700's- one of them has a paper that shows how wood was cut for building houses. Riley says the original home place is farther east form me (half mile or so), so that means my little patch must be an outlying farm or tenant house. Interesting thinking about it....
The Letter that started it all......

I live in the best part of the biggest state east of the Mississippi river in the most generous and best country in the world. I really like my home and my neighbors. This blog celebrates that fact!
